About Adjoa

For UK singer-songwriter Adjoa the enthusiastic reception at her performance with a band at London's famous Ronnie Scotts' Club was a sign of things to come. The audience's appreciation of her unique voice led to her working with Rollo Armstrong (Dido, Faithless), Rob Dougan (The Matix, Moby, U2), William South (Tom Jones, All Saints, Heavy Shift), Bob Guerrier (Avatar, Da Vinci Code, Skyline), Cleveland Watkiss (Talvin Singh, Goldie) and pianist/composer Alex Wilson. Her first collection of songs resulted in an offer to record with the US label Profile (Arista Records). She has appeared at many venues including Somerset House, the Royal Albert Hall, the Jazz Café, and the 100 Club, as well as entertaining guests including Dionne Warwick, Natalie Cole and Elaine Paige at the World Hunger Day VIP Gala reception, and events such as the Columbia Tri-Star Oscar evening ceremony as the headline act. There has been an hour-long feature on her on Kiss FM, and interview on BBC Radio. Adjoa performed at London’s Living Room at the City Hall for the launch of the 50th anniversary of Ghanaian Independence Celebrations in the UK. She also performed with the London Community Gospel Choir for the United Nations alongside acts including Sir Willard White, Jocelyn Brown and Alison Moyet. She is fluent and sings in English, French, Spanish and Twi. Adjoa recently won a competition in the UK newspaper The Stage. She is currently working on her new studio album.
